Journal idea stolen from  :iconsonamy13333tlo: probably the best SonAmy proof I've seen so far.
CHECK IT NOW! :dummy:

So,

Lately, I've been ecstatic to hear what Sega had to say about some possible upcoming SonAmy moments on their Sega Master Tweet Theatre  www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB3Mk0… hopefully this gives us SonAmy fans something to expect from a unspecified game in the future.

So before I get to the games' overall proof/evidence, I wanna add that maybe Sega is doing this for a reason. Call me crazy, but Sega may be doing something right this time. What I mean by that is-- well... let's just say that Sonic and Amy did get together. If you've ever watched a show with romance (some type of soap opera) you'll see that how two of the series characters will get together and every thing is great! Then... they break up, make up, and it keeps going in a circle; worse case scenario: they would get rid of the character because he or she has really no use in the show (which only happens in rare cases). If Sega had put Sonic and Amy together (or made them an official pairing) then what would be Amy's characteristics? She was supposed to follow Sonic everywhere, mainly his 'self appointed girlfriend', but what would she be if she did possibly get Sonic? Don't stone me, but as much as I love SonAmy it would make the Sonic series well...kinda...boring. I'm not giving the idea that they shouldn't create a strong love bond between them, I just find it better when Sonic acts all shy around Amy when she glomps him or chases him. The series wouldn't be as funny and cute as it would to see Amy chase Sonic. I still strongly support SonAmy, and I believe that Sega should try to emphasize how much Sonic cares for Amy in their next game. So far it's been on and off in the past few games. Sonic Unleashed and Sonic and the Black Knight, gave us some huge proof. Then you get a game like Sonic Free Riders or Sonic Generations and he just is just 'playing it cool'. You can't just say that Sonic doesn't like Amy at all or that he hates her, never will love her. It's definitely NOT TRUE. There has been shows, comics, articles, most importantly the damn games themselves, showing evidence or proof that he does indeed care and have deeper feelings for her. Even in the games you will STILL find hints, maybe not AS much, but a fair amount.  It all comes down to this piece of evidence : fav.me/d257mu0 this is REAL. People with eyes should see that there is SOMETHING between them, and it's undeniable.

So as you may know Amy was first seen in Sonic CD. Not much evidence here. I mean it is like the first game she ever appeared in, so why would they let Sonic warm up to her so fast? You gotta let the love spread out over time. :dummy: He did ignore her, but first he was young. He doesn't yet understand love. Here Amy is introduced to him and he probably doesn't have a clue on how to react back to her affection. Thus, he ignored her.  I would say that she is like the 'princess' in his life, but she is way more capable of fighting for herself. Amy gets more bashed then she should, she can actually save herself.

Moving on to Sonic Adventure. So, Amy is a playable character for once. Well, towards SonAmy hints, I can't really say there was any in that matter. Sonic was being a jerk with her (no surprise). I believe he was still warming up to Amy for the time being.

Then there was Sonic Adventure Battle 2. Okay, so this shows a tad more of Sonic's soft side towards Amy. When he saved him from the prison cell, when she said will you marry me, he kind of hesitated and then said NO WAY! But it doesn't really prove much... Eggman blackmales Sonic by saying that he has Amy held hostage. Before Tails could finish his sentence ( which he says, "SONIC! AMY IS... )and he's all like AMY IS WHAT! WHAT TAILS! He sounded so concerned about her. Then Sonic comes in and Eggman says, blah blah blah, that is, if you REALLY care for your 'girlfriend' and Sonic was... speechless. He had a look of like shock and concern. And then before he is sent out he says, "and Amy, take care of your self." He probably doesn't want anything bad happen to Amy, and he sounds so concerned. Also if you watch the end credits, you will see Sonic standing near the window, and Amy comes up beside him and says "whats wrong?" And he's like "ooh it's nothing" and then he acts all sweet around her and says...meeh heres the link ~ www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GU3zy…

In that video I also included Sonic Advance 3. When you unlock Amy, and she says something... (which refers back to the link) www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GU3zy…, Sonic is being shy; still probably warming up to Amy. Then when you chose both of them it will say, 'Lovely Couple', heh I couldn't agree more.

Sonic Riders did show a little more care towards Amy. So she flirts with him when she first spots him on the bridge. Of course Sonic is around his friends so why would he play along with her. Then Sonic makes it to the finals, in thus Amy wishes him good luck and he somewhat takes her word, and it looked as though he did thank her by like slightly nodding back. In the end Eggman captures Amy and uses her to blackmale Sonic to give him the thing, our else he would hurt Amy. And Sonic does some like move and 'accidentally'  catches Amy in it too.

Sonic: Next Generation.
This game was a mess.

A couple of Sonamy hints, but not too much to stand on solid ground. I'm sorry i just have nothing good to say about Elise. She is a human, Sonic is an animal. It just doesn't work out, and I quote- The implied romance between Sonic (an animal) and Princess Elise (a human) has also been heavily criticized. GamesRadar called their kiss "the most bizarrely cringe-worthy kiss in video game history," and in another article, concluded about the pairing that "True love has never been so disgusting." GamesTM went so far as to say that "...Sonic's relationship and kiss with Princess Elise truly marked the point the [Sonic] series had veered off into absolute nonsense. So Amy (unlike Elise) risks her life to save Sonic from getting hurt by Silver, just so he could go help Elise. This honestly sounds like a messed up love circle. I must also mention the 3 tests. The last one is the love test. Where you [SONIC] has to chose between Amy or Elise. Obviously I chose Amy and the guy you're directed to at the end said, 'I respect your choice, she is one of your long time loves. Now I never really, fully understood what he meant by that, like in the sense that he meant it towards Amy that she always loved him, or towards Sonic, that he always loved her. I'm still not completely sure.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, now we are getting somewhere. This game actually gives us some solid evidence we are able to stand confidently on. The fact that he put his hand in front of Amy to protect her from the oncoming robots. HE also again sounds concerned when Amy was lost. Watch the evidence itself  --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqaZmo…

Sonic Unleashed, best yet.
Amy spots Sonic werehog form and mistakes him for the actual Sonic. As a result he gets disappointed, only because she didn't reconize him and also chip was saying he looked different, so he thought he scared her off. Then when Amy is...dancing with those people Sonic spots her and proceeds to defeat the ghosts [in werehog form] and he like picks up Amy, who is on the floor unconscious. Before she gets the chance to look at who saved her he runs away, so she doesn't know who it was. That is what I call a total SPIDERMAN move. If you ever watched the movie, you will know what I'm talking about. I think he was afraid if she knew what he had become, she wouldn't feel the same way about him.  but she later reveals it didn't matter to her, she liked Sonic either way.
Also,

If you give Chip food he will eventually ask:

"Do you like someone Sonic?"
"You do! Don't you?!"

Later on in the game if you talk to Amy she will say:

"...Maybe we can finally go on that date." Sonic has the option of saying.

"Sure that could be fun." or "I'm good, thanks."

Sonic and the Black Knight, so at the beginning of the game you should know that Sonic was supposed to be on a date with Amy, therefore he was holding two chillydogs. Then he meets "Nimue" who is really Amy. Same look, different personality. Sonic's first instinct is to run from her, but then he is told to respect her. I guess he realizes that she isn't going to chase him, for she was calm. And he proceeded to put his arm around her. Moving on to the ending credits, it reveals that Sonic had started to ACTUALLY start dating her, although he missed it.

A side-note;

They both would sacrifice there lives for each other, the relationship is NOT lopsided.

They are both strong characters independent characters.

Amy DOES NOT intend to get in Sonic's way. Heck I don't she ever has. Let's just think of it this way, you wouldn't want the one you love the most to get hurt. Your first instinct is to protect them or tell them that it wouldn't be safe to do something so utterly dangerous. I'm pretty damn sure Amy means well.

Well I guess we will have to find out and see what fate holds for us SonAmy fans!
These are opinions, guys! I'm just throwing mine out there to discuss among the fan-base!
You don't have to agree with them!

It's actually quite a relief to read this.  I kind of lost my faith when YoshiWii1 left, but this really made me happy, so thanks.
